Every second and every minute that counts take corresponding events, happenings that could either be positive or negative. We do not know the things that lay ahead us. That is why it is important that we think of our welfare as well as of others. It is good that Davao City has the utmost 911 System. It is the first in the Philippines and the third in the world. Like in Canada and USA, 911 system is intended for the service of the DavaoeÑos.
The reduced crime and poverty rates, the regular growth of inward foreign investments to Davao City, the sufficiency and competitiveness of Davao’s market, and the progress of Davao’s agricultural business; all these things were made possible by Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
Davao City is the world’s biggest city in terms of land area which is 2,443.6 square kilometers. It has an estimated population of 1,006,84 accounting to 19% of the entire Southern Mindanao region. It is the second biggest urban market within the East ASEAN Growth Polygon.
Imagining Davao City without a leader like Mayor Duterte is like living in a place of nowhere. Before, thieves, snatchers, and swindlers are everywhere. Juvenile delinquency was once rampant; drug lords, drug pushers, drug addicts, and any other syndicates were dwelling freely here in Davao. But since the time Mayor Rodrigo Duterte seated on his position, these crimes slowly fade away.
Mayor Rodrigo Duterte was once a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, a lecturer on Criminal Law, Criminal Evidence & Criminal Procedure, and Police Academy Regional Training Center XI. In the same year, he started his political career as the Davao City’s Vice Mayor. From 1988 to 1998, he was elected as the City Mayor. 1998 to 2000, he was elected Congressman of the 1st District, and from the year 2001 up to present, he is elected as the City Mayor of Davao.
.He is indeed amazing. Now we know why Davao City has attained much advancement and development. A lot of people asked what’s in him that he was able to manage Davao City excellently. The answer is visible to our eyes. It is his attitude that made him powerful. It is his unique way of gaining respect from the people; his unique way of serving and catering the needs of each individual; and his unique way of changing our bitter world to better world.
“Export in Davao City is now in Billion dollar industry.” stated by the government. This is reflective of the fact that agriculture is still the largest economic sector. Big plantations that produce banana, pineapple, coffee, and coconut eat up a large chunk of the total land area. Due to the City’s unprecedented growth, a clamor for higher capacity infrastructures resulted to a number of modernization projects now ongoing to meet the demands of the new millennium. Could you believe that? That is because of Duterte’s governance. Investors find it easier and safer to invest here in Davao. Quality products and services do not necessarily equate to high cost. Almost everything of quality in Davao City costs cheaper compared to other major cities. Rates of public utilities, real estate, rentals for commercial spaces, accommodations, labor, raw materials, and other business related inputs are comparatively cheaper than other major cities in Asia. This factor is seen vital in achieving a healthy return on investments.
